Shoulder Pain Treatment in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg with Dry Needling & Physiotherapy
Individual support for shoulder pain – practical and without time pressure.
Shoulder pain: when the small things suddenly hurt
Putting on a jacket. Sleeping on your side. Reaching up to a shelf. Shoulder pain tends to show up exactly in these everyday moments – things you used to do without a second thought. It can develop gradually or appear suddenly, and sometimes it is not even clear where it is really coming from.
At my practice in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, I help you make sense of your complaints, clarify possible influencing factors and find an individual approach that fits your daily life. I do not want to put a label on it too quickly – I want to first understand what your shoulder actually needs.
So that you can also find me in other languages: shoulder pain is frequently searched as shoulder pain (🇬🇧), olkapääkipu (🇫🇮) or schouderpijn (🇳🇱).
With warning signs – following an accident, with severe swelling, significant loss of strength, fever or persistent resting pain – please also seek medical assessment.
How shoulder pain can present
Perhaps you recognise this:
- Pain when lifting the arm (putting on a jacket, washing hair, reaching for the shelf)
- Complaints with overhead movements in sport, housework or at work
- Pain when lying on your side or front, or frequently waking at night
- A feeling of stiffness, "blockage" or restricted mobility
- Radiation towards the neck, upper arm or shoulder blade
- Uncertainty: what is still OK? What should I avoid?
How I can help
I work findings-oriented – which means I want to understand what is happening with you before I treat. When does the pain occur? Which movements provoke it? What load or daily life situation is involved?
After the anamnesis comes a targeted assessment: mobility, muscle activation, shoulder blade mechanics, cervical and thoracic spine, relevant muscle groups. From this I build an individual plan. Depending on the situation, this can include manual techniques to regulate tension and restore mobility, Dry Needling for muscular trigger points (only when it fits and you want it) and targeted exercises for stability, control and strength – dosed appropriately and suited to daily life. Sleep position, workplace setup and sport adaptation also come into view where relevant.
I make no healing promises. But I can help reduce complaints, improve function and develop clear next steps.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to rest the shoulder completely?
Complete rest is often not the most helpful approach. Adapted, graduated movement tends to be more effective. I can help find the right level for your situation.
What is "impingement" or "inflammation" – and what does it mean for me?
Terms can be confusing. What matters to me is which structures and movements are notable in the assessment and what improves your function. If medical assessment would be useful, I will point this out.
How quickly can it improve?
This is individual and depends on factors including duration, load, sleep, stress and training management. A clear plan often helps already. I discuss realistic steps after the assessment.
Does dry needling help with shoulder pain?
It can support muscular trigger points, but is not always necessary. I only use it when it suits your findings and you want it.
